There are TWO ways to fix a registry error in XP. See them both below and choose the one that is best for your own situation.

Specific, Manual Fix

This is the first type of registry error repair. Basically, you use the error message that you have and search on Google for a specific solution to that error.

The problem with this type of Windows XP registry fix is that the error message is usually just one tiny clue of the more serious errors that exist on your PC. You may fix this error and be bombarded with a chain of new registry errors. More likely you will simply have to wait a matter of days or weeks before the next sign of a bad registry emerges in the form of yet another, probably different, error code or message.

Deep Scan, Cure & Prevention

Such a tool will first allow you to take up a backup of your registry so that any changes of fixes can be reversed if you wish. Then a deep scan will be performed – it is not unusual to find registry errors in the hundreds these days. You can then choose to fix all errors or select only the ones you want.
