Error Codes Windows XP

October 9th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Windows XP like any other operating system or piece of software can go wrong from time to time. Programmers invented Windows XP error codes to give them a quick read on the situation and where the error was occuring.

Unfortunately, these codes are not all that useful or understandable to you or I. So what do you do if you get an error code?

Short Term Fix

You need a fix and you need it quickly. Get a screenshot or just simply write down the error code on a piece of paper.

Next, go to Google and type the error code in exactly. It is best to use quotation marks too as it will return more relevant results. For example:

error 2250 “network connection does not exist”

Very quickly, you should find a short term fix for your problem.

Long Term Solution

You need to ask yourself, was this just a one off? Have there been other errors that you’ve been getting also?

It is very common over time to get an increasing number of registry error messages or other funny Windows errors. Programmers know how to get around this and are planning big things for the next generation of Windows.

But for both XP and even Vista, it is a fact of life that you will get more and more errors as time passes by. In fact, like the tip of an iceberg, most of these errors are already slowing down your PC without you even realising it because you are not shown the error codes.
